If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
and I cant find any info at symantec.com

Norton AV 2000 v7.5 resources go to 100% using live update and I am not
getting updated. Other apps run and I can download my spyware updates, but
of course it is slower since norton live update put sys to 100%. The point
is I can still download, but norton is not updating at all.

xp pro sp2. I did have this running on a previous install of xp pro sp2 and
live update worked. That was way back in early 2005, I think.

No need to apologize, Paul - good to know that you found the resolution to
your issue.
You can run LiveUpdate from a command line:
Type: "luall" (no quotes) - from a Run box.

Good luck!
