Hi all...

I have a Windows Server 2003 machine where I want to share a folder in order
to access it from the LAN.

I created a group called Developers and added my network user to it.

Well.. I shared the folder and click Permissions button under Sharing tab. I
added Developers group and assigned Full Control.

I did the same under Security tab.

After that, I tried to connect to this shared folder over the network and I
can only view folder contents, not to modify it.

Any help to solve this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jaime

are you also a member of the developers group, if not are you an
administrator and did you leave administrators as having full control?

yes... I added my network account to Developers group.

The server is called SRV_DESARROLLO and if I see Developers group properties
I can see GRP_SECURITY\jstuardo, who I am.

What are the other NTFS permissions on the folder? Why do people keep
wanting to add user groups to the "Share" permissions. Access is controlled
through NTFS folder permissions. the only thing you need to do on the Share
permissions is make sure the group "Everyone" has FULL control. No other
group is needs to be added in at the share level security. Share permissions
will superceed NTFS folder permissions with the most permissive.
