If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
we've switched to a new backup tape drive, but still have 3 tapes for our old
tape drive. I've seen that you can get them professionally destroyed or just
cut them up / burn them, but I'd rather keep them on hand in case we ever use
the old drive again. That being said, I want to make the tapes blank so that
they no longer contain sensitive data on them. Is there any way to cheaply
erase these so that no one else can get data off of them, but at the same
time keep the physical tapes intact so that we could reuse them as blanks?
