Are you certain they're viruses and not spyware?

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options You need to make sure that you keep your virus definitions current and that
is done via Live Update which can be automated. Also make sure that Norton
is in real time monitor mode and that it scans all your emails and
downloads. It should also be scheduled to do at least weekly full system
scans. What I would do now is to use Live Update to make sure you are
current with virus definitions and then boot into Safe Mode to do your
initial virus scan. If you have trouble with a specific malware search
Norton's site at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ to see if there are
specific instructions. As make sure you read the link below on the must do
basics to secure your computer/network and it has links on viruses and
spyware. --- Steve

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options The one thing to point out is that the stance that MSFT takes on infected
systems is that they will only support at best effort. They highly recommend
that the system be reformatted, reinstalled, and restored with uninfected
data.

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options Right there are a few steps you need to perform print this off and then
follow the instructions:
1. Delete cookies, history and Internet files by right clicking Internet
Explorer, and properties.
2. Delete purge files and files inside your recycle bin.
3. Update your anti-virus tool - norton use live update
4. Then restart your computer
5. Whilst your computer is booting up when the black screen appears quickly
press F8, this will give you lots of options on how to boot up your PC, use
your arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight "safe mode".
6. When your computer is fully booted up in safe mode it may look different
this doesn't matter, click your anti-virus tool and run through it.
7. After when it is finnish click delete any viruses.
Norton anti-virus also has a lists of websites containing what the virus is
and how to delete certain ones the link is on each virus that is found.
Also you can delete them manually by following the link on the path where
the virus is, right click or drag the virus or the infected file to the
recycle bin or click delete.
Empty files and then restart your computer, make sure you press F8 again and
then click load up normally. Then run through your Anti-virus tool again, it
also good to download other virus removal tools (temp) if 1 anti-virus dector
can't detect. You can also delete spyware too, but spyware will NOT show up
on anti-virus dectors, so it will not be spyware. Be sure to delete temporary
files in C:/ drive and delete cookies and history again afterwards. It would
be also good to download a firewall, and download SP2 for windows X.P. if you
have Windows X.P.
Hope this is any help to you! :-)
