If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
i have a windows 2000 server plus 40 workstation.
do i have to make the local user part of the administrator group or power
user.
or i need to created a special user for this local computers.
all this to prevent users to damage computers.

thanks for any help here.

You most definitely do not want to make your users administrators or
power users unless you absolutely must. Microsoft has a wealth of
information available for free to help you set up your server and
workstations as securely as possible. Even though you are using an
older version of the server operating system, setup and deployment
information is still available. Start here:

No. In fact you should want to avoid doing so, and when it might
appear you need to do so in order for the users with only limited
accounts to accomplish something, then you should seek out the
resolution that will enable them to do that while remaining only a
limited (plain Domain Users member) account

No. Assuming you do have a domain, and the workstations
are joined to it, then the default setup arrangement will enable
users' use of their one domain account on any of the workstations.
If the workstations are XP Sp2 then as limited users they will not
be able to have much destructive impact against the workstations.
