If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I am using active directory in a windows 2000 domain. I am looking for a way
to search my file server to find what shared folders and files a particular
user has access to. Does anyone know an easier way to do this other than
physically looking at the security assigned to each folder?

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
You can use the tool cacls.exe to display the permissions of users have on a
specific file or folder.

Check out on the syntax used for this command.

Try Permission Analyzer, it shows you all access rights for a specific user
or user group. It's more graphical than tools like cacls.exe
