If your Symantec licence is active , you must always update your products -
anti spam , antivirus , firewall protection , so on...

Symantec constantly updates its SPAM filters so you just check its settings
to make sure it is OK and also make sure it is updated . Make sure your
antivirus and any other protections are working and updated.

Another products are called "paid products" or too free products .
MS Office Outlook 2003 is part of MS Office 2003 suite. This suit includes
Word , Excel , Power Point , al well as Office Outlook . Microsoft is
constantly updating its SPAM filters and whe I has Office 2003 I have never
had problems with SPAM , all messages were caught in the Junk mail folder .
You are office so I assume you have Office pack . If you have older (not
2003) version , just pay a cheap upgrade and upgrade to 2003 version with the
Office Outlook

Another option is to buy Panda Gate Defender . This is a piece of hardware
which can be a first layer of protection in your network/company . This
product is updated everyday and it can eliminate all kind of viruses and all
kind of spyware + it has web-content filtering , SPAM protection and
Intrusion detection system . I have been told that Panda SPAM filter of
corporate products are pretty good.
More info about Panda Gate Defender:

Another possibility ( but I think it is definitely not suitable for company)
is to use Gmail . Well , this is free mail and it is Google product . It have
antivirus protection and SPAM protection and all messages can be downloaded
using POP3/SMTP/IMAP4 and so on. I have Google account and use Gmail and I
can guarantee all the SPAM and phishing is caught.

And also you should realize the problem with the SPAM can never be 100%
fixed because we currently have no definition about what SPAM is . Yes , SPAM
is unwated and unsolicated commercial mail . But what do you mean by unwanted
:
You say : No advertisements
I say : Oh , I want some advertisements

So one persons may need what another say it is unwanted . And this is the
main reason the SPAM can never be 100% eliminated.
