Every time I start up my computer, a red shield shows up indicating that my
virus protection is turned off and to click on the shield. Windows Security
Center comes up and then virus protection turns on by itself. What is causing
this problem? Can't find info. to fix this problem anywhere! My Norton
updates are current as are the Windows updates. HELP!!!

If you're Norton is working then in the Security Center there should be a
link for "more information" or something...click that and tell it you have
a/v that you'll monitor yourself.

This is likely normal behaviour for Norton anti-virus and Security Center.
*Providing* that the alert goes away, *every* time.

Open Security Center via Control Panel ensure that virus protection is (checked)
under the Resources Pane in "Change the way Security Centre Alerts Me".
