A pop-up blocker does not prevent adware that you have installed on your
computer from displaying ads. Worse, some adware programs are able to
interfere with Windows firewall, seriously compromising your security.

The solution is to remove the adware and to prevent adware (and worse) from
getting on your computer in the first place.

You have to clean up your computer first. Go through these steps
systematically:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

After you are 100% sure your computer is virus/malware-free, if there is
still a problem with the firewall post back. Don't forget to include
your XP version, Service Pack level (assumed SP2, but I don't like to
assume), the name/version of your antivirus, what you did to
troubleshoot and the results, and the text of any error messages (like
you did above).
