I am considering buying one of the 2 products below & suspect my system is
not up to par (enough space, etc.)
I'm looking for any advise as to whether I need to upgrade memory or
someting else (to what?) or get something totally different.
I'm presently using Norton Internet Security 2005 Anti-spy & spam.
The requirements for ZoneAlarm & Kaspersky are below.
My info follows after.
Also, can you tell by this info if I have 32 bit or 64 bit?
I don't understand what all these terms really mean.
It looks to me I don't have enough memory.
Thanks

Your computer far exceeds the requirements for either of those programs
and has a 32-bit processor.

You have XP Home which is a 32bit operating system.
You have a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 processor
You have 512 Mb of RAM
I can't tell you how much disk space you have as you have not provided
that information, try double clicking on My Computer, right click on
your HDD and select Properties.

Space and memory are not the same space refers to the size of your HDD,
memory is the amount of RAM you have installed

Why?

Before you rush into buying any of this stuff - have you considered
what it is you want to protect yourself from? And exactly how these
products will help you? If you can't explain that, they could just as
well be waste of money.

It seems like you are running XP SP2. It comes with a build-in
firewall. Why not just use that?

With regards to viruses, there are free anti-virus solutions out there
not much worse than the paid for ones.

And if you are using Internet Explorer for your surfing, make sure to
use it in a secure way - or take the easy approach: Use something
else.

Those are just a few actions you could take to strengthen your
security - and it's free. I can provide more if you like - for free.

Good idea to get rid of that.
