AntiSpyware 2008 - Antispyware.com

^^ This product is a rogue antispyware product.

After scanning my computer with this product, I was asked to pay for the
application even though the website said "free scan". AntiSpyware 2007 (the
old version) had the exact same GUI as Windows Defender, and the website
tried to trick users into thinking that it was the Microsoft website!!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!

Check Spyware Warrior's Rogue Antispyware list before downloading any
antispyware products.

John.

There are plenty of those out there. They rely on the fact that people don't
listen to or read advice fully; instead they recall fragments of the
information, and then download anything that sounds vaguely like what they
were told to use.

A good argument for posting links to genuine antispyware sites instead of
naming products.

You've already got problems, my friend! Run a /thorough/ check for
hijackware NOW, including posting your hijackthis log to an appropriate
forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
