Hello,

We have the following scenario:

XPSP2 home PC not on domain
Cisco VPN
Exchange 2000
Outlook 2007

User logs on locally to home machine, then connects through VPN, opens
Outlook which prompts for domain credentials, which he has indicated he is
sure he has typed correctly (and webmail works no problem). Account then
locks out.

Account is enabled and not expired.

Does anyone have any suggestions, Google didn't turn up much.

Might be better asking an exchange group about this one, but IIRC Exchange
Server will not allow you to open a mailbox unless you're authenticated in
the server's domain. This need not be full domain membership, for example
connecting to the sysvol or netlogon share with the exchange-user's
credentials will do.

e.g.
net use \domaincontrollername\sysvol /user:exchangedomain\username password

Hope this helps.

Interesting, though the user downgraded to OL2003 and the problem stopped.

Ah, well, if you are so generous to act as a Microsoft beta-tester <g>

-and that's 2003 I'm referring to, never mind 2007!
