Hi.. i have a windows 2000 advanced server domain with sp4, my users use
windows xp workstations with roaming profiles.
i need to limit the number of login to the user to just one,"if he is loged
on to one machine with his account he must not log on again untill he log off
from the first machine"

Not possible, unless you also limit them to using only one machine to login
from. That can be done in the User Account Properties.

There are at least two approaches to this.
If you have SQL server, check out the resource kit tool
named cconnect
Otherwise, MVP Paul Adare has outlined a way where
one defines a share per user, with only that user allowed
to it via share permissions, which same per user share is
allowed to have one simultaneous share access. One then
uses a routine in the login script that maps this share, and
if it fails does a logoff.

If you can possibly get one Windows 2003 domain controller in your domain
then you can use the RK tool called limitlogon which will do what you want.
There is a client and a server component but the client component is an .msi
application that can be distributed via Group Policy Software Installation.
The downside to limit logon and cconnect is that the user gets not
explanation as to why he can not logon to his computer. He is simply logged
off right away which can increase support costs. --- Steve
