If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
"I have gone into the security/advanced tab of
the parent folder and trield clicking the check box to "Replace permissions
entries on all child objercts with entries shown here that apply to child
objects" but it wont let me because there are no rights to the photos so it
says access is denied."
If you logged on as an administrator the above should have worked assuming
that administrators have the user right for take ownership of files which
they do in a default install and that can be verified in Local Security
Policy under local policies/user rights. However taking ownership alone does
not grant an administrator access to folder/files as it only gives them the
ability to change permissions so after taking ownership you need to go into
the properties/security of a folder/file and then give yourself or
administrators full control. If you still have problems consider using a
command line utility such as xcacls.vbs or fileacl to changed ownership and
permissions. However these are very powerful utilities so practice using
them on a test computer if you are not comfortable with them and I recommend
that you have a backup of your server or at least the folder in question
"just in case". Another option is to use the built in ntbackup as an
administrator to backup the folder and then restore it selecting the option
to not restore original permissions. --- Steve
