If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
We have Omnikey Cardman 4000 pcmcia readers and third-party smart cards to
logon to Windows 2003 AD.
Everything works, except there is a very long delay after giving pin code
and between the logon process itself starts. The delay after pin is always
between 17 and 20 seconds, which is way too long. The delay gets even worse
if you use Omnikey Cardman 2020 USB reader: it doubles, being almost 40
seconds. The delay is the same when you log on to workstation, or unlock a
locked workstation. There is absolutely no delay when you give username and
password instead of smart card.
Which could cause this? The card, reader (which I suspect the most) or CSP
software?
I have monitored traffic with network monitor, and there is no traffic from
or to workstation during this delay. At the end of the delay kerberos
traffic can be seen, and that gets replies from server within fractions of a
second. The delay stays the same, whether there's network connection or not.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
BR, Jussi
