I've recovered from several pieces of Malware and a couple of virus. The
problem is that now the security center reports that I don't have any
anti-virus. Is there a reg setting that is tweak or any other solutions?

Like PA Bear has mentioned we would appreciate more information such as what
operating system and service pack, what anti-spyware programs, and what
anti-virus program you are using. After following PA Bear's Hijack This
instructions go to the Comprehensive Malware Removal Section on the Detailed
Malware Removal page of my website: www.stopmalware.tk to fully clean your
computer of all malware that Hijack This might have missed.

Hi Jack This is not anti-malware application like any other like Ad-Aware SE.
It only generates a log file of all running processes , BHOs , essential reg
entries and so on , so it cannot miss things as it do not decide itself. The
log file must be analyzed by ^an expert^ and then the infected reg key , file
or process can be eliminated by HJT. Sometimes , a tool like HJT is
necessary but it is not recommended to be used by someone who has no idea of
what the things wriiten there are .

Technically, I considered HiJackThis an anti-malware tool because I was
assuming that you would post your log in one of the forums PA Bear suggested
and then removed the items an expert referred tool; but, as Panda_man said,
HiJackThis is not your standard anti-malware tool where you select
everything on the list and delete them.

Your computer is either not clean or you might have deleted some reg key
essential for Security Center . Do you have antivirus and does it works . You
can test your AV application with the Eicar.org Test file here in
www.eicar.org
