I suppose that you want to do stuff on a users desktop. Best thing to do is
to run the program you want to run by Right Click and select Run as. Enter
your administrators credentials and now the program is run as administrator.

Unfortunately, RunAs doesn't really achieve what's required, as it loses the
user's settings and network connections. The only real answer is to
temporarily change the user's privelege-level and re-logon. Very
time-consuming way of working, though, requiring numerous logoffs/logons.
Been there, done that...

Might be worth taking a look at http://mylogon.net - designed for small
networks where you want to control network-access but don't need to
micro-control users' own computers.

Way this works is that the local userprofile is fixed, regardless of who
logs-on. The user logs-on the server, not to their own computer or to a
domain. This way the user can be given complete control (or not) over their
own computer without this raising network-security issues.

Plus, to do maintenance you use your own engineering account, not theirs, so
you don't need to keep trashing people's passwords, nor do you need to
walk-around with an easily-misplaced list of passwords in your back pocket

OK it's a shameless plug as I wrote the utility for my own use on several
small sites- It's free to use anyway. Next version might not be, but v2 will
always be free to use.
