Ooooooooops. I just realized that MLC already recommended TrueCrypt.
By the way, in my humble opinion, STAY AWAY from Instant Lock! It seems to
have destroyed my Windows XP "Quick Launch" bar! Yep. It was in there and
when I uninstalled it, the whole Quick Launch toolbar went south and isn't
resizing or allowing the task bar to be moved or resized anymore.
I for one, do NOT recommend Instant Lock nor Secrecy File and Folder Hider,
both of which were horrid in my initial tests for the previously stated
reasons.
Unless others come up with suggestions, the top two freeware folder
encryption seem to be (at the moment):
1. TrueCrypt
2. Cryptainer
With TrueCrypt appearing to win by a landslide on everything except initial
usability (TrueCrypt isn't intuitive to me until I read the documentation
while Cryptainer seemed to work out of the box but is limited to 25 Mb
folder sizes).
