If it had permissions to your files and folders before, you should have them
now. I'm not sure what the FAT32 partition has to do with this, but note
that FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB and your backup may be larger - I'd
convert that partition to NTFS.

Agreed, and I'm not sure that's your issue, as mentioned. See

also perhaps provide more detail of the problems you're having.
