If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
If I create a folder called public on a windows 2003 server, is it ok to
remove creator owner and system and leave only administrator and
authenticated users.

Yes, provided you don't give any delete privilege to the authenticated suers
group, otherwise everyone will be able to delete each other files in there.

The purpose of the creator owner group is for anyone who create files in
that folder will have full controll permission since he is now the owner.
Whereas the authenticated user group should only has read permission so they
can't delete any files which are not belong to them.
