If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I hope you did not do this through a website link in the email you got as
this is an attack commonly called phishing where someone tricks you into
believing that you are changing your password at the official website but
instead you are at a bogus website that looks just like the real deal but
you end up giving the attacker your password and personal info. If it sounds
like that happens to you need to get in touch with EBAY ASAP to tell them
what happened and possibly cancel your account. My guess is that the
attacker already logged on as you to Ebay and changed your user account
password to lock you out while they do their thing. See the link below for
