Hello Experts,

Would an expert(s) being willing to share opinion of onecare vs. other
antivirus
and spyware alternatives.I'm mainly concerned with protection and not so
much
with backup/restore and the like.
Also is the antivirus an MS product or is it someone elses?Likewise the
spyware.
Is the spyware related to WD or is it something totally different? If
different how
does it compare. And lastly, can onecare co-exist with other protection ie.
spyblaster,spybot etc.

Thank you,
Steve

That's easy --- OneCare doesn't compare and falls way below AV induistry
standards for
detectect even with their recent ICSA certification. Kaspersky and NOD32 are
suggested.

Windows Defender is for non-viral malware and it doesn't compare to industry
standards liek
Ad-aware SE and SpyBot S&D. It doesn't even copare to new comers by
SuperAntiSpyware.

Simply put... Microsoft should NOT be in the anti malware business.

That's easy then. For eas of use, reliability and actually ensuring your
hard disks contain your data safely, Onecare is on a par with removing
viruses from your computer by dismantling your hard disk and putting all
the components through your clothes washer on the hottest setting
available and then re-assembling it without waiting for the bits to dry.

I'm always surprised at "professionals" who STILL have to be asked:
"Have you checked (event viewer / syslog)".
