Dear all,
I was wondering whether there is a way to get notified (e.g., by
email) when someone installs a program on a computer (e.g., a
keylogger). Can this be done without the installer know about it?
I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Elias

While it may be possible (however likely easy to circumvent with portable
apps, etc) - I would say it would be better to just not have it as an
option - meaning no one can install as they do not have the rights
necessary.

Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. But this is for a home pc with open
access to all, on which I don't want to add access privileges. I just want to
be informed if someone adds a software and what that software is, so that I
can monitor the activity on the pc.
Thanks,
Elias

So you've made a deliberate choice about not wanting to be in control.
Now what exactly are you trying to achieve then?

Look in task manager for what's running and in control
panel->add/remove programs. If you're lucky it's there somewhere. You
could also regularly compare your disc content against a baseline, of
course. Well, OTOH, forget it.

Impossible mission.
