Anyone have this problem? Cracked versions run well untill softwareupdate
"Norton System Works" update was downloaded by updater.

You do realise that Symantec is monitoring newsgroups for people who
freely admit that they use pirated software? Just like Microsoft,
they're members of the BSA.

They're probably already contacting Tiscali Netherlands to find out who
used 82.170.230.65 at that particular time...

That's explains everything.

When you crack some software - for example, using keygen, most likely you
specify information that might be already stored in vendor's database
.
So, if you specify "Ivan Kruglinksi" in keygen it will generate product key
for user that already might be registered. Norton can detect that and send
you wrong updates.

Norton can also detect that it does not contain any buying information
(credit card history, date of buying, etc) and block wrong user using
updates.

That just my ideas, I don't have exact information about how it is
performed.

I have no sympathy for you. You deserve whatever you get for using
pirated / stolen ware.

If you cannot afford to purchase a program, then use one of the 50 free
ones out there that do the same thing.

If you have an illegal license for the Norton product,
Norton Update will not function since it does a check
for the presence of a valid license. Since you apparently
do not have a valid license, you are not entitled to any
Norton updates. Thus, your "cracked" Norton license
is absolutely worthless.
