If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Every time I boot my computer I get the following:

"Your computer might be at risk. No firewall is turned on. Click this
balloon to fix the problem".

If I click on the balloon, I find out that the firewall is running.

If I do not click on the Balloon, it desappears on its own accord after a
few seconds.
If I click on Control Panel/Windows Firewall, I find out the Firewall is
running.

What do I have to do to get rid of this balloon? My firewall must get
activated immediately after the balloon appears. How do I fix it?

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
This is due to what's known as a "race condition." Basically, Security
Center loads before the firewall is fully enabled.

Do you or did you have a Norton or McAfee application installed?

No, I never had any Norton or McAfee application installed.

I am presently using Windows Firewall, CA Anti-Virus and CA Anti-Spyware.
For a very short time (1 day) I used CA Personel Firewall but removed it. It
was too intrusive. The problem existed before I ever installed the CA
Personel Firewall.

The CA Anti-Virus came installed when I purchased the computer.

Have you purchased CA Anti-Virus yet? Were all three CA applications
installed as part of a "security suite"?

and the retailer installed it. I still have the disk. All I had installed

e-Trust EZ Antivirus.

The license for eTrust EZ Antivirus expired after 1 year and I was not able
to renew it as I did not have a credit card. After a lot of phoning, the
local CA representative sent me free of charge the “CA Internet Security
Suite 2007 OEM Version”.

It came with the following:

CA Anti-Virus, CA Anti Spyware, CA Personal Firewall, CA Antis-Spam. A
separate disk was also included for Parental Control.

I turned off the Windows Firewall and uninstalled the eTrust Anti-Virus.
Once that done I proceeded to install CA Internet Security Suite 2007 except
for Parental Control.

Being unhappy with CA Personal Firewall and CA Anti-Spam I uninstalled “CA
Internet Security Suite 2007” using “Add or Remove Programs”.

I reinstalled only CA Anti-Virus and CA Anti Spyware. The CA Internet
Security Centre now shows:

CA Anti-Virus (protected), CA Anti-Spyware (protected), CA Personal Firewall
(not installed) and CA Anti-Spam (not installed).
