Hello,

assume I create a named pipe on one pc where can set up any security
descriptor for it I want to (you name please how to do this and what
descriptor to set), how can I connect from a second PC on the LAN
(assume both cases: peer to peer and domain based networking) to that
pipe without my connection being rejected due to security reasons?

OS is either W2000 SP4 or XP SP2.

Greetings

Markus

Hello,

solved by using a valid NULL DACL.

Greetings

Hi Markus,

I saw this and your other posts, but held off in hopes that someone who
is active in development would pick up on the unanswered thread(s).
As I understand it, one first configures the context for the rpc transport
over which the named pipes protocol will be used.
You may want to look at some of the links in
http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=RpcBindingSetAuthInfo
and consider the explaination in the rather old
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/142064/en-us
