Hi all,

I was wondering how you can modify the "Trusted Publishers" list in Excel.

I know you can use the Office Resource Kit tools CIW and CMW ... but can you
also use AD GPOs?

We need to modify that setting in order to add the root certificate from our
microsoft PKI to the Trusted Publishers List.
(All the macros are digitally signed with certificates issued from that CA.)

TIA
Markus

Markus,

I'm assuming that you're talking Office 2007? As far as I know using
GPOs to modify the Trusted Publishers list is not possible. You need
to use the Office Customization Tool (OCT). See
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Office/en-us/library/05c24b5c-122c-42f2-a4a5-1f09a066558f1033.mspx?mfr=true
for more information.

Hope that helps,
Derek

Hi Derek,

thanks for the reply.

In the meantime I figured out how to use GPOs to distribute Certificates to
the "trusted publishers" container:
Using Software Restriction Policies!

When you create a new certificate rule that certificate will be stored in
the computer's / user's trusted publishers store.

Thanks anyway.
