If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options You don't mention the operating system but if you are using Windows 2000 or
XP I recommend that you do NOT logon as a local administrator when browsing
the internet and to make sure all your user accounts are using hard to guess
passwords. The link below can show you some tips on increasing the security
of Internet Explorer. If you are using XP Pro you can also use Software
Restriction Policies to limit what programs can be run on your computer
though that is a somewhat complex topic for regular computer users. I use a
disallowed rule to prevent any executable from running in the path for \my
documents on my computer with the exception of .lnk files.
Of course you need to be using a firewall, a quality antivirus program
that also scans all email attachments, and keep current with critical
security updates at Windows Updates which is very easy to do as part of
securing your computer. Also be VERY careful when you have a prompt box to
install or download something as often selecting no means yes if you read
the wording. Your best bet if you are not totally sure is to select neither
and select the box with the x in it in the top right hand corner of the
dialog box to close it.--- Steve
