I'm using defender beta 2 running on xp home sp2. I have mistakenly deleted
the startup
Run: [Windows Defender] "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe" -hide
from the startup list.
Anyone could help me figure out how to add it into the startup group?

Thanks.

You may want to try Ace Utilities, which is a really efective junk file
removal program that contains an autostart manager that lets you create new
system start up rules and modify the ones you have. In the optimize tab just
choose autostart manager, inside right click add entry and choose the program
location.

Make up a file from the lines below. Copy into a file called fix.reg
which should be created in Notepad. Do not retype, copy in case of
errors. The 1st line in the file is the line REGEDIT4
Make sure your mail or news reader does not add any spaces to the end
of a line.

Be careful not to let the "Windows Defender" line wrap at the space
after the second "Windows" (as it does here)

The last line must be blank.
Right-click fix.reg and select Merge.

-----copy below this line fix.reg------------
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Windows Defender"="\"C:\Program Files\Windows
Defender\MSASCui.exe\" -hide"

---- end file above here
