I need to get a Firewall product for our small business running 2003 SBS.

I have narrowed the choice down to two.

The Watchguard Firebox X Edge X15
The Sonicwall TZ170

I only have 5-6 clients on the network, running a web server (for private
access) and will need remote access for probably 2 connections.

They both retail at about the same price, but it apears that the watchguard
X15 comes with 5 vpn access licences, whereas the sonicwall has none. An
optional purchase, which the makes the Sonicwall a more expensive choice by
comparison.

I'm curious as to which one is the more popular, and would like to hear any
preferences toward either, or indeed any other brand.

I'm not familiar with the Watchguard Firebox, but stay away from the
Sonicwall TZ170. I have 2 and they are nothing but problems. Watchguard's
support can't be worse than sonicwall's, as Sonicwall doesn't even give
support for lower end TZ170s

Have you looked at and already eliminated the entry level firewall from
www.netscreen.com? It too comes with 5 VPN connections for free, along with
a whole host of other pretty advanced features, at a very affordable price.
Their entry level firewalls use the same code with the same features as
their top of the line enterprise firewalls.
