Aloha Marg,

Which PC firewall are you using? The standard Windows XP firewall or a 3rd
party product? What operating system are you running?

Marg,

If you run the services mgmt interface
start / run services.msc
what does it say for the item listed as
Windows Firewall / Internet Connection Sharing ?
It should be set to Automatic and it should be started,
if we are not talking about a third-party firewall.
Otherwise, can you locate the service entry for the
third-party firewall product?

When you configured for this new network provider,
did you have to install software (note: more than just
run something that configured your network settings)?
Can you locate something related to this in the control
panel's Add/Remove Software applet?

Roger
