If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options Did you uninstall Norton (AV) via Add/Remove Programs? Did you then run the
removal tool

Did you enable the Windows Firewall?
What does Security Center have to say about the status of your AV and
Automatic Updates?
