Some of my clients use external USB disks to back up their data. The
process is fully automatic, and at the end of the backup, the USB disk
is dismounted so that the user can
safely disconnect it. This works fine but it causes a problem when the
client'USB disk has virus. To protect my computer against virus I scan
the USB disk by certain antivirus software
But scanning USB disk is time consuming. Do you have any good methods?
Thanks!

The software removable storage guard is able to solve your problem. It
protects you against all the threats via USB memory disk that try to
attack your computer.
