I am part of a workgroup connected through a LAN.
I have certain personal documents on my PC which any body in my workgroup
can access without my knowledge or permission. I wish to keep my docs secure
and safe from prying people.
How can I make my personal folder inaccessible to anyone but myself?
Can I use a password? If so, how?

What OS are you using? Does everyone on the network have different usernames
and passwords?

Thanks a pile. I believe that the hide option is most suitable for me- a tyro.
Let me experiment for a few days and get back to you all, who have taken the
time and trouble to read my query and reply.
Cheers,
Noel

Not sure hiding them will work, someone else who has the "Show hidden
and system files" option covered will still be able to see them....
