Anybody have suggestions on how to get my firewall packaged with Windows XP
Home edition to work? No matter what I try it stays greyed out.

Virus protection and updates work fine just the firewall can't be turned on.

Hi Chuck,

I believe the information on http://windowsxp.mvps.org/sharedaccess.htm will
tell you what you need to know to resolve this.

Hello,

As Panda_Man suggested, you may have to be an administrator. One way to
discover your "priv's" is by using the command line utility.

Open command: type.... netsh firewall show config. If you have admin
priv's, you will get all the info. If not, I believe it will tell you
otherwise.
