Hello,
I am establishing a minimal security baseline for all servers in the
production environment. Therefore I am creating security templates with all
the minimal security settings.

I want to use the security templates to configure the file and folder
permissions (NTFS permissions). My goal is to design a ‘most secure as
possible’ baseline without disturbing the production environment (business
continuity = very important). Therefore I need to export the current NTFS
permission of all servers to a security template. So I can compare them with
the minimal security baseline.

I know that the security settings of a Windows 2003 server is based on the
security templates defltsv.inf and defltdc.inf (%systemroot\inf). But what I
am looking for are the current settings.

Does anyone know how I can export the NTFS permissions to a security template?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Hans

Maybe Permission Analyzer. The tool can export permissions of all shares to
a HTML report.
