Greetings!

I have a situation in which I would like to audit the execute file
object access type on files within a file share as opposed to a
directory on the local server. I have enabled the 'Audit Object
Access' policy on both the host and client machines and have set the
Audit permissions on the directory. I am able to view the audit
permissions from either the host or client successfully. However,
when accessing files within the directory the audit events do not show
up in the Event Viewer for either the host or client.

Is it even possible to audit file access events over file shares?

Thank you,
Ryan
