I need to edit user permissions on a local folder via a group policy.
I know that if I head to Windows Settings\Security Settings\File
System, I can add file and folder permission changes, but my problem is
that the folder I need to edit permissions on is under a hidden folder.
The hidden foldrer I am bumping up against is Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data. If I just un-hide this folder and
proceed to make my changes, will that cause any other forseeable
problems down the line? Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks
Scott

AFAIK "hidden" only has to do with whether Explorer will or
will not show it. If your changes will cause a problem depends
on to what you change the permissions.
When changing NTFS permissions via GP, consider making a
GPO specificially for the change, and then unlinking it when
done. If the NTFS settings are within a GPO that carries many
other settings, then whenever the GPO is seen needing a reapply
the NTFS settings will again be visited, which can cause needless
delay if a larger storage is being touched.
