Hi,

Is there a way to allow EFS to complete/finish encrypting "My Documents"
folder before the Windows Desktop appears and allows users to open
applications?

Once EFS completes, there is no problem; however, if users activate a
program that tries to access any file within My Documents before encryption
completes/finishes, the program will not work (ie Outlook). The fix is to
manually decrypt the folder, run Outlook, etc. EFS in this scenario is
required by Company Security Standards...we could ask the users to wait a
minute for encryption to complete however this usually only works for a short
while, but not over the long haul.

Thanks,

Mel

Outlook .pst files have their own encryption capability; perhaps you could
move the .pst outside the EFS area and use that.

Truecrypt might also be suitable alternative.
