Hi, need help. Our client has a printing issue. User account cant add a new
printer by connecting to the print server, it seems like the driver from the
printserver is blocked for some reason, but what is weird is that when we
change the driver to a generic PCL printer driver, it automatically downloads
the driver from the printserver. I tried to install the driver manually and
it worked ok, but client want to install the drivers by clicking on the
printers shared on the printserver bec. the number of users is a lot. I
believe there is noproblem with the driver or on the printer coz the Admin
can add the printer using his account using the same workstation. Need Help
where can I start to troubleshoot. thanks

Is the print server running Windows? On the sharing tab, there's a button
to store drivers for other Windows versions onto the server, so the
automatic install will work. I think Windows Server edition comes with a
few standard drivers, but for most printers you'll need to add the other OS
drivers before you can use for example a Windows 2003 Server print server
from Windows 98 or NT 4.
