Hi all,

I've got 2 PC's which are in the same workgroup. I would like to be able to
access each computer from the other without having to share all
drives/directories. I've got a feeling that this isn't a safe option,
especially when connected to the internet.

So I thought if I add the administrator from PC1 to the Administrators group
on PC2 that I should be able to access the drives. However I can't add a
user from PC1 to a group on PC2, it doesn't understand the user's location
and I cannot set the location to the other PC.

Can anyone give me pointers or help me out?

TIA,
Friso Wiskerke

Workgroups don't work like that.

Assuming Windows XP Professional, Simple File Sharing turned off...
If you want to access the files/folders on another computer - you need to
know a username/password on the other computer that has rights to that
share/folder/files.
