If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options You may be seeking a technical solution to what is actually
a human factors / personnel issue.
Just because of the phone conversation it does not mean that
the work is happening in the office on your time. Most people's
clients do want to discuss their projects during business hours.
Perhaps you do have other events that lead you to your assumption.
Perhaps your IT needs are not large enough to keep him busy,
or are tasks going undone, at least not in a timely manner.
You might want to consider asking for him to provide you with
a weekly report of tasks completed, with times per, of prioritized
tasks needing completion, again with time estimates per, etc..
This change in the character of his job may in itself provide him
with cause to adjust if he is doing as you suspect.
The technical capabilities to monitor what is happening are
there if iit were not for the personal stand-alone, depending
on usage of internet connectivity etc. But it is not simple, and
given his stated roles you would likely need to be as stealthy
as he might be capable of being.
I would suggest that you find a non-technical approach unless
in fact there is more to it than the suspect event you mentioned.
If you are thinking you are best off with another, etc. then just
do it; otherwise I would suggest a personal approach.
