My EZ Trust anitvirus tells me that the socks8b.exe file is infected by the
win32malum.bkno virus. I can't find any info on how to delete the virus.
Can I just delete the socks8b.exe file? (What is the socks8b.exe file?)
I've run by spyware and ad aware programs but they don't do anything to get
rid of the virus. Help!

Use your eTrust AV software to delete the virus. If it is a true virus, that's
why you anti
adware/spyaweare software "...don't do anything to get rid of the virus". If
you are
having trouble, boot into Safe Mode and fully scan the PC using eTrust and have
it remove
all infected files.

Basically, if eTrust detects the malware, use eTrust to remove it.

If I could, I would, but this is one of those viruses that the EZ antivirus
software detects but does not quarantine or remove. That's why I was looking
for help. It's the free version of EZ antivirus

The free version is the fuill version free for one year and then you have to pay
for a
subscription.

If you could just delete the file, then eTrust would have done so already.

Please submit a sample to Virus Total --
http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html
The submission will then be tested against many different AV vendor's scanners.
That will give you an idea what it is and who recognizes it. In addition,
unless told
otherwise, Virus Total will provide the sample to all participating vendors.

You can also submit a suspect, one at a time, via the following email URL...
mailto:scan@virustotal.com?subject=SCAN

When you get the report, please post back the exact results.

Then we can determine what software may be used to remove this.
