Hi,
I have a blue 5 pointed star sat in my taskbar (near the clock) and it is
telling me that my version of Windows XP is an illegal version and if I
click on the link it takes me to a page where I can buy a proper version.
Obviously I haven't done anything of the sort as my version is a legal one.
Is the star a sign that I am infected with Spyfalcon or something similar?
Before I start to spend hours trying to clean the computer can someone tell
me what this is for sure?
Thanks
Lenny

Sorry but not sure now as it is on another computer in my office (I am not
there at the moment). I am at home and thought I might try to find the
answer before I go back in the morning.

The URL will help pinpoint the malware as many malware families have many
domians but are
registered by the same syndicate. That is unless they are using a proxy
Registrar.

Thanks for the swift reply,
Have you come across the blue star before that is trying to get me to buy a
legal copy of Windows or at least load a webpage? Is it part of the Spyaxe
family do you think?
Cheers
