I don't use a PC but I told a friend I would try to find out what's going on
with her computer (OS is ",,,Millenium something)

While surfing she gets one of these after a few minutes:

URL mhtml:mid/00000012/
error
code 0 char 1 line 182 error object expanded
-------------------------------------------------------------- or
DirectDB.DLL.
msimn shut down

Does this look like a virus? Suggested action to take?

Thanks

Sounds more like a corruption in the DLLs used by Outlook Express used in WinME
than
malware.

Is she using IE6 SP1 ?

Curious: If you don't use a PC, how did you post to this newsgroup?
If you don't use a PC, and your friend does, why doesn't your friend post?
If you don't use a PC, how are you familiar with PCs and your friend isn't?

;-)

on 28 Dec 2006, something possessed Tom Willett to write:

Well, my superb powers of deduction allow me to deduce that this person
uses a Macintosh.

Probably because he/she can't access Internet and isn't as computer
literate as the OP (again, just powers of deduction, but I can be wrong).

He/she may have used a PC in the past, or just knows more about Computers
in general (the techie one in the group) compared to the OP's friend. Of
course, all this is just logical guessing, so I may be wrong here ;-)
