Hello All,
Are there any tools to test the security of AD/Web server running w2k3 IIS6.
I am aware of GFI, but what are the tools that security consultants use?
TIA,
Altria

Have you tried out MBSA? (Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer)? You
can find it at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/tools/mbsahome.mspx
Otherwise, you could check out sites like http://www.grc.com and run
their online scanners. Trend Micro has one as does Symantec.

Going to GRC.Com or any other Port Testing site would be contraindicated if this
is a
corporate/enterprise environment due to the fact that there should/would be a
corp. FireWall
blocking such ports tests and could actually cause flags to be raised as possible
exploitation or intrusion attempts.
If one is going to "port test" a server in a corp/enterprise environment one
would need a
software that would be used locally on the LAN seqment that does this.
As for a vulnerability assessment of the server, I suggest software from eEye
Digital
Security -- http://www.eeye.com/html/
Software such as Retina is suggested...
