Im a Masters Student at American Univeristy and doing a thesis on
Simulating Virus Spread on the internet and i was hoping that somebody
can help me find statistics in form of graphs for example infections of
time of a certain virus (if such data exists). I am just looking for
data which helps me give valid spread rate and cure rate information.
Thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated.

Spend some time here:

Don't Masters students know how to use Google? This search brings up
many links that look potentially useful:

Maybe you should look at the data and learn how to plot graphs and
charts yourself - It is, after all, going to take some amount of work on
your part.

If you find the data, which was where you were directed, you will need
to take that data, giving credit to the sources, and build what you need
to make your case in your thesis.

_____

While you are learn how to research online, keep in mind that this a de
facto Usenet newsgroup, residing on tens of thousands of news servers.

microsoft.public.security.virus is NOT a 'Google Group' ('Google Groups' is
a web-based interface used to search archived Usenet newsgroup posts and by
less knowledgeable users to post to Usenet newsgroups.

microsoft.public.security was established by Microsoft, and is carried on
Microsoft servers as well as Usenet servers.

A Google search is far more inclusive that a search through the 'Google
Groups' interface'.

Also keep in mind that using a real email address identity when posting to
Usenet newsgroups is not-a-good-idea. Spammers harvest email addresses from
such posts. Malware like internet worms use infected systems to harvest
email addresses; these addresses are used for targets for malware via email
AND as faked 'From:' lines on the messages sent.

Finally, an active Usenet newsgroup is a community. Retorts like your reply
make it less likely that your next post will be read; as will lack of
punctuation and capitalization,
