Look closely at the location of the virus - it clearly says, it's in your
Outlook PST file. These are attachments in emails you've received.. You
can't search in Windows for something in your PST file(s).

(I'm actually pretty impressed that Kaspersky's online scan managed to
access your PST file at all.)

What antivirus software do you run on your computer? You *must* run
something at all times - and it must be of recent vintage, and kept updated
regularly/automatically. And run resident in the background. Sounds like you
get a *ton* of mailborne viruses....

I searched it also in outlook in the "Inbox" but I didn't find it there as
well.

I had the eTrust but it is expired and I can't update it because my pc has
some problem with the unpacking the updates or exe-files! Now I have
nothing, because I cannot install any software on my pc and nobody can tell
me why! read more in my post in

If you open Outlook, and make sure you are looking at *that* PST file, do
you see the messages/attachments in question?

I don't subscribe the the newsgroup in which you posted that message - have
you got any useful replies in there? I'd have posted it in
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general (as help & support is not the best group;
it deals with issues pertaining to XP's Help and Support feature).

If you don't have any luck and your machine is pretty well useless at the
moment, you might back up *all* your data (including *.pst - which you may
need to search for including hidden/system folders) to another hard drive,
etc., and reformat/reinstall XP from scratch.

I'm not a huge fan of eTrust. For standalone machines, I'm fond of Trend
PCCillin. Your mileage may vary.

I am not sure if I understand what you mean, but I searched it with the
search field in the outlook and I found nothing!

No, I didn't

I posted it just a little while ago in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

I don't have the WinXP CD :(
