Right Click on "My Computer"
Choose "Properties" --> Advanced --> performance options --> change virtual
memory
Add 128MB to what you have for the MAX. value.
You might want to think about increasing the "real" RAM on the system.

You need a bigger pagefile. I recommend that you let the system manage the
size of the pagefile.

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options I'd also found that having the paging file on a separate hard-drive to really
help with performance as well. That is, if the OS is installed on the C:\
drive as usual, and if the system does in fact have more than one physical
drive, let's say the F:\ drive:
create the page file on the F:\ drive at 100% +/- 10% of main memory
(for example, if you have 512MB of RAM, use a pagefile size of 576mb etc)
I don't think this gains any performance edge if the same hard drive is
partitioned to have multiple "virtual" drives, when both C:\ and F:\ are
actually in the same physical device.
Are there stability, security, other environmental factors that one would
recognize to not 'home' the page file on a separate drive?
Thanks

That' very true. Just make sure the "other" drive is not in a master-slave
relationship
with the "C:" drive or no benefit will be realized.
