Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm looking into the operation of the
Security Center in XP SP2 with respect to its monitoring of the local AV. I
run Symantec AV v9 and get a correct 'green' indication normally. But I've
tested the following:

-when I deinstall/install SAV and don't catch up the virus definitions, I
expect to see the Security Center indicator show that the definitions are
behind. I get a 'green' indicator - all caught up.
-when I shut down all SAV services, I expect to see SC indicate the missing
protection. However, I get a 'green' indicator.

So I'm wondering how well this system works? Any comments/info?

Thanks,

Mike
